Easter Week/ 20 Things That Make Me Happy

Greetings, and Happy Divine Mercy Sunday!

This past week has flown, but boy was I blessed!  It felt like an endless weekend! (haha, you'll never guess what I buy at Bath and Body Works. ;))

On Easter Sunday we went to Mass then came home and hosted brunch.  I wore a new dress that we had gotten at Stein Mart.

My favorite part about the dress is when I spin...

Ta da!!! :D

On Wednesday we had our schola over for practice and a crazy game of Scattergories!  If you ever have the letter P, and I think list 7, I would highly suggest doing Pirate Pinball for number 6, and Ping Pong Paddle for 11. (a double and a triple! SCORE!!)

This week I drew a picture of Tauriel (shock and disbelief!) for an art contest held by my school.

This was the picture I based it off of...

...This is how it turned out.  It's not 100% perfect, nor as good as I would have liked it to be, but it's close enough. :)

On Friday, we went to this new ice cream place called Handel's Ice Cream.  It was SOOO GOOD!!! I got mint chocolate chip (inspired by Ben Seawald!)
Then Friday night I spent the night at a friends house.  Saturday morning I went to the gym for practice, then got back together with the same friend and went to confession.

After that we had a coffee/smoothie date, hung out some more, then headed over to my cousins' for a game of Jumbo Sequence.  All in all it was a very exhausting and fun day. :)

Of course I had to add our beautiful Iris that bloomed some time this week.

Also, I was inspired by Beth and everything I've done this week to add...
*drumroll*

20 Things That Make Me Happy!

  1. Going to Mass
  2. Doing my hair like and Elve (hehe!)
  3. Hanging out with friends
  4. Sewing
  5. Writing stories
  6. Running in an open field (most of the time I imagine in a whole different world) :)
  7. Reading
  8. Finding modest and cute outfits
  9. Laughing so hard I can't even breathe
  10. Listening to Christian Radio
  11. Knowing I am loved no matter what
  12. Playing with the littles!
  13. Discovering something new in the world of Tolkien
  14. Baking Miss Kay's (Duck Commander) cookies, or baking in general
  15. Eating ice cream
  16. Seeing God's creation bloom into spring
  17. Writing letters with friends far apart
  18. Thinking of the future
  19. Being with my family
  20. Singing
And that concludes my post on this beautiful spring day and Divine Mercy Sunday.
Until next time,
Namárië, Mellon!

I Have Returned!!!

Greetings, my readers!

Much has happened since I saw you last.  I have grown terribly busy, seen the Hobbit again, (now isn't that surprising?! :P) and had an inspiration for a..... (WAIT... WHAT??!?!?! INTERCEPTION BY THE SEAHAWKS?!?!?!!?!?  NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!)

Ahem.

Excuse me for a moment while I compose myself.

Anyway.... as I was saying, life has been busy but I have an opportunity to blog today.
Of course I must put up what I wore Sunday. :)

(NOOOOOO!!!!!  SEATLE DID NOT JUST MAKE A TOUCHDOWN WITH 1:25 LEFT!!!! GGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!)

Last week we went shopping at a store called Down East.
They have so many modest clothing options!

(GOOOOOOOOOOO GREENBAY!!!!!!)

As I said, I saw the Hobbit again just before it was out of the theater, and once again I bawled my eyes out.  When time allows I will write a lengthy review.

Until then, namárië!

What I Wore Sunday

I feel like I need to say, "Happy Birthday!" or something like that!  I'm back, and ready to do more blogging!  Well, for the moment.  As it is Sunday, I will post what I wore Sunday. :)

This week I wore....

The dress and shrug are from Stein Mart, the tights, well, who know's where?!..

And the shoes I got from Payless a LONG time ago.

Happy Second Sunday of Advent everyone!

Busy, busy, busy!

Oh my! Where do I start!  School is as always, tough yet easy. As of late, I've been realizing that if I want to do two grades in one year, I'm going to have to step up the work. : /  Slowly but surely I'll get there! :)

Last Saturday my mom, sister, and I returned from a trip to California for a conference with Leah Darrow.  She talked about her story and how us girls need to "reclaim love and beauty."  I wish I had recorded her talk, it was really beautiful!

Then again in less than two weeks we will be heading back to the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart retreat house for their annual boutique!  I've never been, but I've heard it's lots of fun!!  I'll be in the kitchen or behind the booths helping! I can't wait!!  For some reason, work is so much more fun when you're surrounded by habits!! :)  Yes, I see that I keep using exclamations, I'm so excited!!!  Being around the sisters always makes me feel at peace, and helping them always gives me joy.  It really is a one-of-a-kind experience to help the postulants clear the dirty tables, or refill the creamer cups in the (freezing!!!) walk-in fridge with Sister Carmelina!  After the boutique I hopefully will fill you all in.

Last Sunday we sang at a local parish for an installation mass for the priest who became pastor.  I was a little nervous, as we sang for the bishop! :O It was so beautiful as we and another local choir sang "O Sacrum Convivium." The acoustics in the church are AMAZING!!!

God bless!!!!

What I Wore Sunday

This week my What I Wore Sunday post almost became a What to Wear Sunday question and answer session!!  As time goes on and I get taller, my dresses grow shorter and shorter to the point where I just don't feel comfortable wearing them.  Being a constantly growing teenager is getting pretty annoying!

Anyway, I was able to find a dress that wasn't too too short, and here it is.

Clifford decided he wanted to make an appearance this week.

The shoes are American Eagle black flats from Payless ShoeSource,
The dress a Bonnie Jean from Burlington Coat Factory,
and a Jessica H. shrug from Stien Mart.

What I Wore Sunday

Hello all!  I am back on track with my posts! ;)

We had such a nice Sunday morning!  Starting with Mass, then a fun ride in a friend's car to Farmer Boys for Sunday brunch! :)

This Sunday I wore an American Princess dress from Burlington Coat Factory with a No Boundaries shrug from Walmart.
The shoes are the same from Payless ShoeSource.

Happy Sunday!!!

What I wore Sunday

Here is the What I Wore Sunday  post I missed this week!!

Anyway, this is me in what I call my "modern Cinderella dress."  I wish it were a little longer, but that would be kind of hard to find these days.

The dress is a Bonnie Jean from Burlington Coat Factory.
The shoes are American Eagle from Payless ShoeSource.
(Those two stores are where we d a lot of our Sunday shopping.)

What I Wore Sunday

I've decided to join the What I Wore Sunday linkup!
This Sunday I wore a Bonnie Jean dress w/ shrug from Burlington Coat Factory with blue American Eagle flats from Payless ShoeSource.

Also, to top off a sweet morning starting Mass, I made donut muffins dipped in cinnamon sugar while my mom cooked scrambled eggs with polish sausage and potatoes on the side.  God has truly blessed us on this blessed feast of the Triumph of the Cross!

(Left: topped with blueberry compote, Center: Coated with cinnamon sugar, Right: topped with homemade chocolate sauce and whipped cream.)

Of course every adventure needs a soundtrack...listen to the music at the top of my blog!
